Turlock's population is stable to declining slowly. I think a lot of people move here for job opportunities and have kids, but not many people want to retire in Turlock.
The city of Los Angeles has a slowly expanding population with a boom between 15 and 44 years old. I believe this is because of the large amounts of job opportunities in a nice area with a lot of activity.
Chico has a steady population with an extreme boom from ages 19-29. This is because it is a college town, and that is the ages which people often go to college.
San Luis Obispo has a steady population with a boom between ages 19-29. This is a college town, and people go to college between these ages most often.
St. Paul has a steady population with a boom between ages 15-34 and declines at age 65.
The population in New York City is less kids and more working class aged people. There is a lot of work opportunity here, but not a good place to retire with how busy and chaotic it is which is shown by the drop off in the older population.
The population in Houston is scattered with a majority being middle-aged men and older women. There is a large amount of children as well showing families are common here.
